Kyte - Kite Flying Battle Game 2.14

Flying kites never interested me, probably because there aren't any beaches near to where I live. And it's too late to start now since drones are all the rage. Nevertheless, I was curious to see how I could handle a kite, even a digital one. Kyte simply did not do it for me. There's not an ounce of simulation in there.

Kyte - Kite Flying Game is a simple arcade style game in which you control a kite (allegedly) by moving it along the two axes of the screen. The kite climbs quicker than it descends, but other than that, lateral movements are as rigid as moving pixels in the 8bit, Atari era of gaming.

There are four game modes to choose from. Two of them are the reverse of each other. You will need to keep your kite flying (not at all difficult) while either making sure to avoid all flying birds or making sure you collide with all of them. When you get to 5 misses/hits the game ends and you review your score. GameEon greatly encourages you to send a screen shot of the score to their e mail address. Probably to complete their profile of you since you've already accepted Kyte - Kite Flying Game to access your location, media files, device ID and call information.

The other two modes involve rival kites. These blasted kites will try and sabotage yours by cutting the connecting string. I don't understand exactly how that happens, but in order to avoid it, you must swipe left and right, a very ineffective measure as I've concluded. There's absolutely nothing you can do to avoid these attacks except by keeping the distance. You can't attack back either. So unfortunately, there's no kite dueling.

Conclusion

Kyte - Kite Flying Game looks very rushed. The gameplay is more frustrating than anything else and the company intentions seem rather questionable. If you were to ask me, I'd say GameEon simply made a tool to build up a user database. I wouldn't mind if this were a quality game, but it ain't.
